We’ve built over 1,400 single-family and multi-family units throughout Mississippi, including Jackson, Meridian, Cleveland, Columbus, Philadelphia, Laurel, Collins, Hattiesburg, Ocean Springs, and Pass Christian.
Additionally in Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas, we’ve built over 250 single-family and multi-family units.
In total, we’ve built more than 30 high-quality workforce housing properties on time and within budgets ranging from $500,000 to $14.3 million.
Our single-family, detached housing units are 1,400-square-foot, single-story homes that include three bedrooms, two baths, a two-car garage, and a small yard. Typically these developments have 36 to 60 units,a multi-use building, central mailbox facility, on-site security, and a community playground.
Our apartment complexes are two- to three-story units containing up to 1100-square-foot living spaces that offer up to three bedrooms and two baths. These are garden-style complexes featuring a breezeway between the units. Each complex typically has a multi-use building, central mailbox facility, on-site security, small green spaces, and a community playground.
Our quadplex-style townhouses are built on two stories and contain 1,400-square-foot living spaces that offer up to three bedrooms and two baths. These developments typically have 48 units,a multi-use building, central mailbox facility, on-site security, and a community playground.
In 2011 and 2012 we constructed the first two LEED Platinum Certified single-family rentals in Mississippi. Winters is also an Energy Star Certified Builder.
Residential real estate developer Britton Jones, of Jackson, Mississippi, established Winters Construction in 2008.

Winters completed its first development – The Cottages at Oak Park–in 2012 Pass Christian on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. In the following years, the company completed over 1,400 single-family and multi-family units throughout Mississippi, including Jackson, Meridian, Cleveland, Columbus, Philadelphia, Laurel, Collins, Hattiesburg, and Ocean Springs.

In 2014, the company’s Holly Springs, Mississippi, development was awarded the nation’s Best Tax Credit Development by the Mississippi Home Corporation, recognizing Winters’ excellence in revitalizing a community.
In 2016, Winters expanded its operations to include real estate development in Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas.In these states, Winters has completed 5 projects, providing more than 250 workforce housing units.
The company continues to complete an average of four developments per year.
